"The Troll Door, The Trunk & The Compass" is about five siblings who get to stay with their aunt for the summer on the farm. They have some wonderful fun times on the farm. They are all thrilled to be there. Their Aunt has had a hard time for several months because her fiancé disappeared (literally). She needs the children to give her some distractions from her problem. Then Alexander explores and & finds an old trunk in the attic. Inside the trunk is a diary belonging to a scientist who lived in the house several years before. In addition to the diary is a time travel compass that the scientist invented. The compass has dials for different years and also different worlds. Alexander tries it, travels back in time and meets the scientist. Then together they set off to try to rescue his Aunt's fiancé from another world, if it is not too late.
